Biblical Studies Major (BA)

DBU's program for a major in Biblical Studies prepares undergraduate students for further seminary or university studies or for a lifetime of study and service without additional formal training. The Mary C. Crowley College of Christian Faith encourages on‑the‑job training for Biblical Studies majors in cooperation with local churches, hospitals, missions, and other religious institutions.

Ryan Fitch | Mount Vernon, TX

Since graduating from DBU, Ryan Fitch has served as the Junior High Director at Grace Community Church in Tyler, Texas. He shares about his time as a student at DBU.

"Dallas Baptist University emphasizes the importance of finding a Biblical community and I am eminently thankful for that. Through the guidance of professors who deeply care for their students, leaders who direct our university so well, and students who truly love the Lord, to say I have grown throughout my time on the Hill would be an understatement. I am passionate about the world of ministry and have been given opportunities at DBU that have allowed me to pursue my calling more deeply. My heart for the Church and worship is strengthened through my studies here each and every day."

Emory Cothen | Houston, TX

Since graduating from DBU, Emory Cothen has served as the Young Adults Pastor at Champion Forest Church in Houston, Texas. He shares about his time as a student at DBU.

"DBU had a large and undeniable role in preparing me for ministry, providing me a network, and helping me to be ready for the years after graduation. DBU’s physical location provides opportunities in the DFW area that other universities cannot replicate, but the faculty and staff are the best aspect of the institution. It is obvious to me that God’s hand of blessing is on the University, and I believe a large part of that is due to the character and conviction of the faculty and staff."
