Rogers Intercessory Prayer Ministry
All who believe in Jesus Christ are called to pray for each other, our communities, nation, and world. Any student, faculty, or staff member who is a professing Christian can join the Orville and Esther Beth Rogers Intercessory Prayer Ministry at DBU.
The Prayer Room
The Prayer Room is at the lower level of the Pilgrim Chapel. Prayer requests submitted to the Prayer Ministry are prayed over daily in the Prayer Room. Call us at 214-333-5235, and we will help you find a convenient time to visit the Prayer Room.
Missionaries and Missions
Flags on the Prayer Room world map indicate the names of DBU alumni on the mission field and their locations of service. A notebook on the desk contains the latest communication received from missionaries.
Prayer Notes
Notecards are available on the desk in the Prayer Room if you wish to send a note of concern, encouragement, or thanksgiving to someone for whom you have prayed. The Prayer Ministry will mail any cards left on the desk.
Senior Adult Prayer Ministry
Seeking to strengthen ties with our community, Dr. Gary Cook asked Pam Moore to enlist one thousand senior adults to commit to daily prayer for us. Today, we have over one thousand prayer partners who have committed to pray for our University daily. In our correspondence and meetings with our prayer partners, we have invited them to share with us their joys and sorrows so we may help bear their burdens in prayer.
Email Intercessors
Email has provided the opportunity to form a group that we call "Email Intercessors." Any DBU family member can receive prayer requests by email.
Special Support Groups
Several specialized support groups linked by email ensure your prayer requests can be prayed over no matter where you are:
- Special Prayer Group: prays over sensitive prayer requests
- Cancer Support Group: prays over specific cancer patient concerns
- Missionary Support Group: prays over updates from DBU alumni on the mission field
How can I share my prayer requests?
Prayer requests are received in the Prayer Ministry Office by phone, letters, personal visits, emails, or our prayer boxes located on the DBU campus daily. Those who make prayer requests rest assured of our promise for consistent prayer. Contact the Rogers Intercessory Prayer Ministry by calling our office at 214-333-5235.
