Helping You Keep On

At Dallas Baptist University, we want to serve you and your family in every way possible, especially in the middle of this time of disruption.

As you know, April is historically when we begin Advance Registration, as students select those classes which allow them to work toward completing their academic goals. But with all of the uncertainty around the COVID-19 pandemic, we understand that you might have some questions and need some guidance on your next steps.

Below are some services we have implemented to help you keep on with your education during this time.

We want to encourage you, however, not to give up on your goals. Let us help you along this journey.

Virtual Advising Center

Advance registration for summer and fall begins April 1 and runs through May 27. While often Advising has taken place in person, during this time, it will be handled exclusively online or by the phone. Visit the Virtual Advising Center to schedule a virtual advising appointment with your advisor.

Note: Student, after you schedule an appointment with your advisor, you will receive a confirmation email and Microsoft Teams virtual meeting link in your student email.

Registration for summer and fall 2020 will be conducted through Student Planning within Self-Service for all students. We have published step-by-step videos on how to register through Student Planning. If you have questions about registering through Student Planning, contact your advisor.

Financial Aid

If you or your family have lost wages or employment during the shutdown, you may submit a Change of Circumstance Form to the Office of Financial Aid. The aid you qualify for will be adjusted based on this new information, so you do not have to let the loss of work affect your education. Contact Financial Aid at (214) 333-5586 or finaid@dbu.edu to be directed to the correct form.
