Heading into Next Semester

At Dallas Baptist University, we want to serve you and your family in every way possible as we head toward a new semester.

Below are the services available to you as you prepare for the next semester.

We want to encourage you to press on in your education, and we would love to help you along this journey.

Virtual Advising Center

Advising is a vital function for each student’s academic experience. Upon acceptance to DBU, each student is assigned an advisor who guides in arranging a schedule of studies and in making progress in educational and professional development until the student has selected a major field. When the major field of study is determined, the student is assigned an advisor in the chosen field of study. Students may schedule appointments (virtual or in person) with their academic advisor through the Virtual Advising Center. Each advisor is listed with their college. If a student is unsure of who their assigned academic advisor is, they may contact the Advising Center at advising@dbu.edu or by calling (214) 333-6843.

Note: After you schedule an appointment with your advisor, you will receive a confirmation email and Microsoft Teams virtual meeting link in your student email.

Financial Aid

If you or your family are experiencing a special circumstance like loss of employment or other life changing event, you may request a Change of Circumstance review from the Office of Financial Aid. The aid you qualify for will be adjusted based on this new information, so you do not have to let the loss of work affect your education. Contact Financial Aid at (214) 333-5586 or finaid@dbu.edu to be directed to the correct form.

This online system is available to you twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, for convenient access to information regarding full-time and part-time employment, as well as internship opportunities. This service is available for students seeking on-campus and off-campus positions.
