Scholarships are one of the best ways to help pay for college, and the great thing is there are many places where scholarships can be found! 

Dallas Baptist University has many scholarships available to our incoming students. Take a look at which ones you may be eligible to receive.

Christian Service Scholarship

The Christian Service Scholarship is valued at up to $3,000 per academic year for qualifying incoming students. Students who receive the Christian Service Scholarship demonstrate Christian character and are involved in their church and community. Eligibility for the Christian Service Scholarship is determined by the information provided on the student's application for admission.

Scholarship Requirements:

  • Maintain at least a 2.5 cumulative grade point average
  • Maintain moral and ethical standards consistent with the mission, vision, and values of DBU

Church Matching Gift Program

Dallas Baptist University will match designated Christian church gifts for DBU students up to, but not exceeding, $3,500.00 per academic year (fall, spring, and summer) per student.

Corporate Scholarships/Tuition Remission

Dallas Baptist University has agreements with several companies to provide their employees with a tuition scholarship. For more information, contact your company's human resources department to see if they have an agreement with DBU.

DBU also offers a variety of payment options for corporate education students as well as those who receive payment for their tuition from a third-party company, organization, or tuition program.

Transfer Commuter Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions to new transfer students who do not plan to live on campus. Each scholarship provides $2,000 per semester for full-time students and $1,000 per semester for part-time students toward tuition only.

First-Responders Scholarship

DBU awards $500 per semester to first-responders. Eligibility for new students is determined by the information provided on the student’s application for admission.

Military/Veteran Scholarships

DBU pledges to offer scholarships and dedicated support services to all eligible veterans, active service members, and their dependents.

Yellow Ribbon Program

DBU offers unlimited Yellow Ribbon Program scholarship funding to cover tuition costs that may exceed the annual VA funding cap for eligible recipients of the 100% rate of Chapter 33 (Post 9/11) GI Bill®. 

DBU Veterans Opportunity Scholarship

Recipients of any percentage rate of the Chapter 33 VA benefit are eligible for the DBU Veterans Opportunity Scholarship to help reduce the cost of tuition.

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship

Students meeting all eligibility requirements may be awarded $5,000.00 per Fall and Spring semesters if you live on campus and $2,000 for each Fall and Spring if you are a commuter student. 

The scholarship committee will evaluate each candidate on the basis of his or her total qualifications. The Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship is a monetary award that shall be applied toward tuition only. This scholarship is available only to new, incoming transfer students. DBU renews the scholarship on a year-by-year basis until a student has attempted a total of 120 undergraduate hours of college credit, including hours transferred from other colleges and universities.
