Notary and Apostille Process

What is an Apostille?

An apostille is an official certificate provided by the Office of the Texas Secretary of State that is attached to your notarized document. This certificate verifies that the document was properly issued from a Texas institution. Many countries require this authentication for a document’s validity to be recognized outside the country of origin.

Why do I need an Apostille?

If you are seeking a job outside of the United States, you may be asked to obtain an apostille for your notarized diploma and transcript from Dallas Baptist University.

An apostille can only be issued by the Office of the Texas Secretary of State. You can engage an apostille service to walk your documents through the process, or you can follow the steps provided on the Texas Secretary of State website to obtain the apostille. You will also find additional links on this page to explain the apostille process.
