Privacy Notice
The confidentiality of medical records will be maintained in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA). The HIPPA privacy law generally prohibits the use and disclosure of health information without written permission from the patient. FERPA permits the disclosure of such records to third parties under circumstances prescribed by law. The University FERPA policy is available for inspection and review in the Rights and Responsibilities section of the Student Handbook.
