How to Join

Requirements for membership:

  • Major in Biological Science
  • Completed 3 semesters of a four-year Biological Science degree
  • Completed BIOL 1405, 1406, 2405, or the equivalent
  • Maintain at least a 3.0 GPA in Biology courses
  • Reside a minimum of 8 hours at DBU

Requirements to remain in good standing in TriBeta:

  • Attend 75% of TriBeta events and meetings
  • Complete at least 6 hours of community service each semester
  • Maintain at least a 3.0 GPA in Biology courses
  • Attend the Induction Ceremonies each spring

If you would like to be involved before you have met the requirements, you may join as an Associate Member. Both Associate and Full Members must attend a minimum number of meetings and activities.

Full Member

Full Members have the privilege of attending meetings and events, voting, and holding office. The membership fee is $60, which is a one-time fee for a lifetime membership.  If you are an Associate Member who promotes to Full Membership, the fee is $15.

Full Members must attend a minimum number of meetings, activities, and services.  After induction into the organization, students pay $15 per semester to fund activities. 

Associate Member

There are no class or GPA requirements to join as an Associate Member. Associate Members may attend meetings and activities to learn the best ways to serve when promoted to a Full Member. The associate membership fee is $55. Once the requirements have been met to become a Full Member, you will only pay an additional $15.

Applications

Applications are available online. Please do not place cash or checks in the TriBeta box, but always hand-deliver to Dr. Hinson or one of the officers. Dr. Hinson's office is located in Robers 111. If you would like to pay online, go to the TriBeta Store.
