Campus Visit Travel Reimbursement

If you live out of state or 300 miles from DBU and travel to a DBU Undergraduate Admissions Campus Visit Event, then enroll as a student, you are eligible to apply for a scholarship of up to $500.


General Guidelines

  • The student must have applied for admission to DBU before coming to the Campus Visit.
  • The student must be coming to DBU for an official Campus Visit through Undergraduate Admissions.
  • One-time scholarship per student. Students who attend more than one Campus Visit Event are not eligible for more than one reimbursement.
  • Scholarships up to $500 may be applied to tuition only.
  • The scholarship will be applied to the account once the student has begun attending classes.
  • The student must enroll for classes the following semester.
    • Fall for freshman students
    • Fall or spring for transfer students

Charges that will not be reimbursed include, but are not limited to:

  • Checked baggage fees
  • Flight change fees
  • For a rental car or personal car
  • Gas
  • Hotel expenses
  • Meals
  • Seat upgrade fees
  • Tips, valet costs, concierge fees, etc.
  • Travel insurance, ticket insurance, or any other type of insurance (including renter's insurance for car rentals)

Reimbursement Instructions

Reimbursements may only be requested after the 6th class day. Reimbursement requests must be received by the last day of classes of your first semester.

Email the following information to admissions@dbu.edu:

  • Reimbursement submission form
  • Your registration confirmation email from the Campus Visit you attended.
    • Don't have this email? Come see us anyway! We will take a look through our registration archives for a record of your attendance.
  • Your receipt & proof of flight (boarding pass). This should have your name on it, with dates that correspond to the event for which you attended, as well as the price for your ticket with an itemized list of costs. It should also contain your departure and arrival destinations.
  • Your DBU Student ID Card

Reimbursement is only applicable to the student's airfare and is only available to undergraduate students.
