Submit a Prayer Request

We extend a personal invitation to you to be part of the Intercessory Prayer Ministry at Dallas Baptist University. Any student, faculty, or staff member who knows the Lord Jesus Christ can be a part of this ministry. All believers can be intercessors. We are all learners in prayer. Great faith is not necessary, but a little faith in a great God is essential.

The Prayer Room is located in the far right-hand corner of the first floor of the Learning Center. Prayer requests reaching the Intercessory Prayer Ministry Office from our campus or outside it are placed in the Prayer Room daily. These prayer requests are received by phone, letters, personal visits, e-mails, or our prayer boxes located on the DBU campus.

You can become a part of the Intercessory Prayer Ministry by calling the Prayer Ministry Office at (214) 333-5235. We will help you find a convenient day and time to visit the Prayer Room. Your name will be entered on the roster outside the Prayer Room. You will notice that the roster covers Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and is divided into quarter - hour blocks of time.

Senior Adult Prayer Ministry
We are being joined in prayer by more than one thousand senior adults who have committed to pray for Dallas Baptist University daily. Seeking to strengthen ties with the senior adult community, Dr. Cook asked Pam Moore to enlist one thousand senior adults to commit to daily prayer for us. This goal was reached early in 1992. In our correspondence and meetings with senior adults, we invite them to share with us their joys and sorrows so we may help bear their burdens in prayer.

E-mail Intercessors
Many staff and faculty members are linked through the computer electronic mail system. This has provided the opportunity to form a group which we call "E-mail Intercessors." Any DBU family member with a computer terminal and internet access may receive prayer requests by electronic mail. The Intercessory Prayer Office sends out requests, as the need requires.

The Intercessory Prayer Ministry is glad to offer several specialized support groups also linked by e-mail. Sensitive prayer requests are sent to a smaller Special Prayer Group. Specific cancer patient concerns are sent to a Cancer Support Group. Updates from DBU graduates on the mission field are also sent to those who have made a commitment to pray for a particular missionary and his or her family.

Missionaries and Missions
Flags on the Prayer Room world map indicate the names of DBU graduates on the mission field and their location of service. A notebook on the desk lists the latest communication received from missionaries who correspond on a regular basis.

Prayer Notes
A supply of note cards is available on the desk in the Prayer Room. You may wish to send a note of concern, encouragement, or thanksgiving to someone for whom you have prayed. Please leave your card on the desk, and it will be mailed for you from the Prayer Ministry Office. You may also wish to write to someone on campus whose name is not recorded among the requests but for whom such a note would be an encouragement.

How can I share my prayer requests?
Prayer requests are received in the Intercessory Prayer Office daily. Those who make the requests are assured of our consistent prayers. The intercessory prayer line, (214) 333 - 5235, receives calls in person or by voicemail twenty-four hours a day. For those with access to a computer, electronic mail (e-mail) provides a quick communication with the prayer office. Send e-mails to kathyk@dbu.edu. You may also submit written requests by mail or place them in one of the prayer boxes on campus.
