History and Mission Statement
Since 1998 Dallas Baptist University, which is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097: Telephone number 404-679-4501), has offered
fully accredited degree programs via the Internet, creating
a rich online environment where students and faculty members
can collaborate and interact. Our online campus features a
dynamic combination of the newest Internet technologies from
streaming media to threaded discussions. Online courses offer
students a convenient way to learn subject material, do research,
take tests and communicate with professors and other students.
The online courses are student-centered and designed to create
a safe online learning community.
Today, we offer 23 fully online degree
programs to students all over the United States and other
countries such as Brazil, China, Japan, Hong Kong, and the Ivory Coast.
Each semester, we have more than 1,500 students online and
maintain an overall student completion rate of 92%.
DBU Online Education follows the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools recommendations for Best Practices for Electronically Offered Degree and Certificate Programs (see Review).
