Policies
TexShare
is a cooperative program designed to improve library service
to all Texans. Both academic and public libraries are members.
A TexShare card enables holders to borrow materials from and
share resources at other member libraries.
Through
membership in TexShare, Vance Memorial Library is able to
offer the DBU community numerous benefits:
- Expanded
access to online databases
- Borrowing
privileges at member Texas libraries
- Rapid
Interlibrary Loan service via TEXPress courier services
TEXSHARE
CARD
You
may apply for a TexShare card online
or in person at the Circulation Desk.
- Only
current DBU students, faculty, and staff are eligible.
- Students’
TexShare cards must be renewed every semester.
- Faculty
and staff TexShare cards must be renewed once a year.
- Cards
for online applicants will be mailed.
- Cards
must be signed to be valid.
PARTICIPATING
LIBRARIES
A list
of TexShare library members can be found at the TexShare
web site. Please note: each library sets its own policies
for TexShare members; those policies are also listed on the
web site. You may wish to contact the library to confirm its
policies before your visit.
POLICIES
By receiving
and signing your TexShare card, you agree to the following:
- To
present required ID at the lending library
- To
observe the regulations of the lending library
- To
return items to the lending library in person or by first-class,
insured mail
- To
return items immediately if recalled by the lending library
- To
pay charges for late returns, damages, or loss*
- To
surrender the card upon Library request
*Failure
to pay charges within one month of notification will result
in suspension of Library privileges at DBU as well as TexShare
privileges statewide.
