The Ph.D. in Leadership Studies is a 60-hour research doctorate program designed to develop and enhance competencies in order to equip servant leaders for the twenty-first century. The degree consists of a 33-hour core of leadership courses, a 12-hour concentration in one of five areas (business, education, higher education, ministry, or general leadership), 9 hours of research and statistics, and a 6-hour dissertation.
Academically rigorous and creative, faculty and students engage the study of leadership as a community of scholars from business, education, government, ministry, and other disciplines. In addition to the semester courses, the program includes three summer institutes comprised of 7-14 day intensive sessions. The first summer institute is held in Dallas and focuses upon personal growth, professional development, and leadership courses. The second summer institute includes a trip to Washington, D.C. with a special emphasis on political leadership. The third summer institute takes place in Oxford, England, with a concentration on global and cultural leadership issues.
The application deadline for the summer cohort is March 20.
