Academic Requirements

Prerequisites

30 hours—Core Requirements

Old Testament Survey

12 hours—Concentration Requirements

One upper level course in Religion or Theology (to be selected in consultation with advisor).

Above courses to be completed either prior to enrollment or during the first academic year.


CORE CURRICULUM REQUIREMENTS (30 hours)

MACE 5302 Biblical Servant Leadership   Student must take this course during his/her first year in the program

2. MAWL 6303 Spiritual Formation and Worship Student must take this course during his/her first semester in the program.
3. THEO 6305 Christian History and Heritage
3. THEO 6306 Systematic Theology
4. MAWL 6308 Worship Through the Ages
5. MAWL 6309 Worship and Pastoral Care
6. MAWL 6313 21st Century Transformational Worship
7. MAWL 6316 Worship Theology for Contemporary Ministry
8. MAWL 6305 Christian History and Heritage
9. MAGL 5313 Applied Hermeneutics
10. MAWL 6315 21st Century Transformational Worship

CONCENTRATION REQUIREMENTS (12 hours)

Students must take 12 hours of any of the Worship Leadership classes or other graduate classes approved by the dean. Students will be able to transfer up to 12 hours from an accredited master's program upon approval.

General Studies, Communication Ministry,

and Pre-Doctoral Tracks

1. The General Studies concentration consists of 4 elective courses in the student’s area of interest.
2. The Communication Ministry track consists of the following 4 elective courses.
  MACE 6360 Communication Strategies for Ministry
  MACE 6361 Writing and Editing for Christian Publishing
  MACE 6362 Christian Public Relations and Marketing for Ministry
  MAWL 6314 Visual and Media Arts in Worship

The Pre-Doctoral concentration consists of 2 elective courses in the student’s area of interest and a 6-hour thesis.
