English Program
Welcome to the IEP home page. The IEP is especially for international students who want to improve their English in order to enroll in a degree program at DBU without a TOEFL score. Exit exams are conducted at the end of each semester: fall, spring, and summer.
Upon successful completion of the IEP, the student enters the academic program for which he/she has already been admitted.
After successfully completing the IEP, you do not need a TOEFL score to enroll in credit classes at DBU. Three levels of IEP classes cover fundamental English skills as well as university preparation. Classes meet from 9 to 4, Monday through Friday. In addition, the students go on field trips to learn English in more natural settings. American friendship partners play an important part in the program, and the students are invited into American homes for fellowship each month.
DBU is known as a school that really loves and cares for international students. The American students and professors know that it is hard at first for new students from other countries to communicate and to adjust to the culture, so they make a special effort to be helpful and friendly.
Admission to IEP is based on acceptance to a University degree program. Applicants interested in the IEP need to complete the admission application form and check the box, "Intensive English Program," on the application. The IEP follows the University's academic calendar and is equivalent in cost to a full course of study at the undergraduate level for all three semesters: fall, spring, and summer.
* Students may enter DBU without a TOEFL score upon completion
