Phillip Jenkins

Phillip Jenkins

Phillip Jenkins attended the University of Texas at Arlington where he received his Bachelors Degree, Texas Christian University where he received a Masters Degree in Communication and recently completed his PhD Degree in Education.

His experience includes working at Buena Vista Films, the distribution arm of Walt Disney Productions. He served as the coordinator for promoting such films as, The Shaggy D.A., Pete's Dragon, and Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo.

While working in Dallas, Texas at a branch office for Disney, Jenkins was relocated to Washington, D.C. by the President of the company. One year later, he accepted a job with Twentieth Century Fox Films and worked in Southfield, Michigan, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and was finally promoted to branch manager in New York City. While working at Twentieth Century Fox, Jenkins worked on the theatrical negotiations for licenses of the following films: Norma Rae, Alien, Breaking Away, All That Jazz, Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, Romancing The Stone, and Cocoon.

Dr. Jenkins arrived at DBU in 2002 and currently serves as the Communication Chair responsible for scheduling classes, establishing budgets, and teaching the following classes: Fundamentals of Speech Communication, Interpersonal Communication, Nonverbal Communication, Desktop Publishing, Communication Styles, Key to Business Success, Introduction to Broadcast, and Broadcast Writing.

Dr. Jenkins is currently working on a second Masters Degree at DBU in the area of counseling where he feels that his interaction with students in and outside of the classroom can benefit from the experience he gains through this discipline.

Achievements:

Helped create a virtual call center for her company which has become the largest department in the organization. Set up policies and procedures as well as hiring of new employees. In addition, created two other departments (credentialing and human resources) within the company.

Served as a volunteer in her church's children's ministry.
