Students planning to be certified
to teach Grades 8-12 will secure a major in either biology,
computer science, English, history, mathematics, or natural
science. To be eligible for Texas certification, students
will also follow the State Board for Educator Certification
(SBEC) standards for Grades 8-12.
Students follow a course of study which includes the following
components: (1) General Studies, (2) Professional Responsibility
courses, (3) major in either biology, computer science, English,
history, mathematics, or natural sciences, and (4) sufficient
electives to complete the 126-credit-hour minimum for the
bachelor's degree, which includes 42 upper-level semester
hours.

DBU requires a minimum cumulative, major, and minor GPA of 2.0 (comprised of transfer and DBU hours). In addition to this requirement, DBU also requires a DBU minimum cumulative, major, and minor GPA of 2.0 (comprised of DBU residency hours). |
