The Residence Life Office is located in the Crowley Complex
and is open all year to provide services for all current
and prospective resident students. To contact a representative

Residence
Halls
There are 6 residence halls for students on the DBU campus
as well as a 120-unit
apartment complex. Williams Hall, Lange Hall and Spence
Hall are arranged in suites. Each room shares a bathroom
with an adjoining room. The Crowley Complex consists of
Calabria Hall, Crowley Hall, and Sharp Hall. These residence
halls utilize a community style bathroom facility on each
floor. Each residence hall has laundry facilities, vending
machines, and a lobby area to receive guests. In addition
to dorm rooms, the Residence Life complex also houses
the Fill My Cup Coffee House, Dining Hall, the Rogers
Baptist Student Ministry Center, and the Co-ed Lounge.

Apartments
The Colonial Village Apartments offer students a new
alternative in university living. These 1,046 square
feet luxury two bedroom, two bath apartments will accommodate
up to four residents each. The apartments will include
a full kitchen, washer and dryer, and furnished bedrooms.
A beautifully landscaped pool area and clubhouse are
also available to apartment residents. Placement priority
is given to upperclassmen.
Students interested in living in the Colonial Village Apartments must fill out an Apartment Application and Medical History Form in the Apartment Life Office. A $25.00 non-refundable application fee is due upon completion of an Apartment Application.
Once
a student has received approval to live in the Colonial
Village Apartments,
a lease agreement must be completed to reserve an apartment.
Apartment residents are responsible for meeting all
terms in regard to their lease agreement. Residents
who forfeit their lease or become ineligible to remain
in campus housing are still responsible for the terms
of their lease agreement. For additional information
about the Colonial Village Apartments please refer to
the Colonial Village Apartments Resident and Community
Policies and the Apartment Lease Contract. Interested

Room
Amenities
Cable television and telephone services are offered
at no charge. Each room is equipped with a basic cable
TV hook up. A limited supply of cable cords are available
and may be checked out from the Residence Life Office
with a $5.00 security deposit. These cords must be returned
to the Residence Life Office at the time of check out
in order to be eligible for return of the deposit. Students
may access cable with any cable-ready television.
A
telephone jack is also included in each room. Students
will need to provide their own telephone. Each telephone
line is equipped with a voice mail function. Students
are encouraged to check their voice mail on a regular
basis. Old messages should be deleted. Students who
choose to make long distance calls may secure an account
with DBU’s long distance provider.
Each
room is climate controlled. Students may adjust the
fan in their own room.
Students should keep windows closed while the climate
control system is in use.
Students
also have access to the DBU computer network. Students
may log on from their rooms to check e-mail and perform
other functions through the DBU Intranet. See Internet

Furniture
Rooms are equipped with beds, dressers, desks, and closets.
Shifting or trading
of furniture between rooms without permission and/or altering
or defacing property in any way is prohibited. Residence
Hall furniture may not be taken apart or stacked. Due
to the limited amount of space, the Resident Director
must approve all additional furniture BEFORE THE STUDENT
ARRIVES ON CAMPUS. |

Laundry
and Vending Machines
Laundry facilities, soft drinks, snack machines, change
machines, and icemakers
are available in every residence hall. A coin-operated
copy machine is available in the vending area of the Crowley
Complex. Laundry machines will accept coins or laundry
cards that can be purchased in the Crowley Complex vending
area or in Spence Hall. Each laundry card holds up to
ten dollars of laundry credit. |
