Training Facilities and
Sports Medicine

The DBU Sports Medicine Program is in its 3rd year under the guidance of head athletic trainer Marie Carnevale. Carnevale did her undergraduate work at John Brown University, then received her Master’s in Sports Health from Texas Tech University.

The training room was moved this past year to a larger area that now allows for adequate accommodations of all the athletes and rehab required at DBU. We have been able to add tables and new equipment yearly to make our facility more efficient.

In addition to Carnevale, DBU has student athletic trainers and one graduate assistant and works in conjunction with the Charlton Methodist Sports Medicine Clinc. The clinic supplies us with doctors who visit the training room weekly, cover needed events and are on call 24 hours a day.

We are continually seeking new student trainers and workers to help with the coverage of the various sports here at DBU. There are scholarships available to those who want to help serve the athletes in the Sports Medicine field. Those who have high school experience are welcome but anyone can learn.
