Training Facilities and Sports Medicine

Dallas Baptist Sports Medicine is in its second year under the guidance of Head Athletic Trainer Christopher Weeldreyer.  Weeldreyer was a 2004 graduate of Dallas Baptist University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science during that time he served on the sports medicine staff for three years.

In 2006 he received a master's degree in Athletic Training from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center .  While at Tech Weeldreyer gained more sports medicine experience working High school, NAIA & NCAA Div 1 Colligate athletics, as well as an internship in minor league baseball.  Weeldreyer is an active member in NATA & SWATA.

Weeldreyer is entrusted with the day to day operation of the athletic training rooms, Care and prevention of athletic injuries, and the supervision of the sports medicine staff.  The DBU sports Medicine team has partnered with Dr. Keith Meister of TMI Sports Medicine and Performance as well as Methodist Family Health Centers.

Weeldreyer and his wife Melissa live in Arlington and attend The Village Church in Highland Village.

We are continually seeking new student trainers and workers to help with the coverage of the various sports here at DBU.  There are scholarships available to those who want to help serve the athletes in the Sports Medicine field.  Those who have high school experience are welcome but anyone can learn.  Please contact Christopher Weeldreyer if you are interested in joining our team.
