2004 Season Preview

The DBU Patriot 2004 Cross Country season should be an exciting one. The harriers enter August with enthusiasm, new faces, and experience.

The enthusiasm comes from a stellar 2003 season in which the Men's and Women's teams combined for more than 4 individual titles in only 6 races. Katie Simpson and Cory Welch both managed individual titles during the 2003 season.

More excitement comes from a special blend of new faces and experience throughout the entire team. The women's side, led by returning letter winners Katie Simpson, Chancie Larson, and Nancy Harrison will compliment a crop of freshmen runners including Adria Miller, Christine Garcia, and newcomer Libby Barnard, who are expected to contribute immediately.

On the Men's side starting with sophomore Daniel Kingsley, junior Cory Welch, and senior Jacob Phillips the Patriot men expect to pick up from an amazing 2004 Track season and continue that success throughout the 2004 Cross Country Season with newcomers Jonathan Hurley and Osione Itegboje, who should also have a strong impact. There is good reason to be excited!
