For Parents Who Want to Order a Finals Care Package

Each semester during the week of final examinations, the Baptist Student Ministry (BSM) gives parents the opportunity to purchase care packages for their students living in residence halls and the Colonial Village Apartments.  The semi-annual care package ministry also serves as a fund raiser for the BSM student missions program. All of the money raised will help send DBU students around the world on summer missions.

Each care package costs $15.00 and will contain gum, candy, beverages, various snack foods, pens, and highlighters. We will personally deliver the care packages to any on-campus resident along with a personalized message, prayer, and scripture passage from the sender.

If you would like to purchase a care package for your student or an international student on campus, please contact the BSM at 214.333.5431, or email Jason Hatch at jasonh@dbu.edu.  In order to make deliveries on May 1, 2007, the form and payment need to be received by April 20, 2007.

Note to Parents:  The event summaries and "Student Life Calendar Highlights" that follow are provided to give you a window into the student life experiences that your son or daughter may encounter in the upcoming month.

Friday, May 11, 10:00 a.m. & 3:00 p.m.

Unlike many universities, Dallas Baptist University considers the graduation ceremony to be a worship experience, as well as an opportunity for celebration.  Each year we receive letters from parents and friends expressing how much they appreciated the respectful atmosphere in our ceremony.

As a student, you can play a vital part in ensuring that our commencement services continue to reflect a worshipful attitude.  If you plan on attending, you are asked to follow the instructions that will be given for acknowledging graduates.  Thank you for helping us make our commencements something special for everyone.
