The Graduate School of Ministry offers scholarships to students obtaining an M.A. in Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care.

Students in DBU's Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care program who have been commissioned into the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, or U.S. Air Force Chaplain Candidate Program

Scholarship Amounts Vary

DBU has four chaplaincy scholarships available to M.A. Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care students.

  • Military Chaplaincy Scholarship – (available for those commissioned in the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, or U.S. Air Force Chaplain Candidate Program)
  • DBU Institutional Chaplaincy Scholarship (not in military chaplaincy)
  • Tom and Katie Whitfield Scholarship (chaplaincy students)
  • Gil and Ann Stricklin Scholarship (chaplaincy students)

How to Apply

  • To apply, students must complete the current year’s FAFSA to determine financial need.

Specific Requirements/Information

The Whitfield and Stricklin Scholarships are only available in the Spring Semester. 

All other M.A. Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care awards are available Fall and Spring.

Maintaining this Scholarship

  • Students must be enrolled in an M.A. Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care program. 
  • Students must meet all components of Satisfactory Academic Progress.
