General Scholarship Information

Qualifications

Dallas Baptist University provides equal opportunity for all students seeking scholarship funds. DBU admissions uses a rubric to determine the level of academic scholarship a student has earned based on test scores and High School GPA. New students should contact the Office of Admissions for complete and current information on scholarships for new students.

How to Apply

We always suggest that all DBU students submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). However, all admissions scholarships (UG and GR) are handled by the admissions team during the application process. Some scholarships, such as: Christian Leadership Scholarships (CLS), Ministerial, Honors Program, Music Scholarship, Chapel Worship, Baptist Minister’s Dependent, and Church Match, have their own separate requirements or applications. Additional scholarship opportunities can be applied for through various offices across campus.

Students should always speak to their major’s office administration regarding any additional scholarship opportunities.

Undergraduate Admissions Scholarships Duration

Unless otherwise stated, Undergraduate admissions scholarships are eligible for students who begin a semester with less than 132 attempted credit hours. Though students can submit a scholarship appeal to request these scholarships beyond this point.

Current/Returning Student Scholarships

Dallas Baptist University attempts to award students the same aid they received based on their entering cohort year. As long as funds are available and the student continues to meet the eligibility requirements, the chances are high that students will receive the same or similar aid package as the previous year.
