Education Scholarship

The Education Scholarship is an endowment fund established in honor of Dr. Rodney F. Shelton.

Undergraduate students who have been accepted into the College of Education’s Educator Preparation Program and are in or entering their Field-Based education courses. For more information, visit the College of Education.

Scholarship Amount

The Education Scholarship varies per academic year for qualifying students. The scholarship is limited to eight full-time semesters, is applicable to tuition charges only, and is reviewed annually.

How to Apply

The Dean of the College of Education awards these scholarships. Students should apply for this scholarship through the Dean's office.

Specific Requirements

Scholarship recipients may be requested to assist the Dean's office on special projects designed to enhance a student's educational program.

Maintaining this Scholarship

  • Progress toward the completion of their program of study at a rate that will ensure graduation is a reasonable length of time (meet Satisfactory Academic Progress).
  • Maintain an appropriate cumulative grade point average as determined by the Dean of the College of Education.
