Christian Service Scholarship (CSS)

The Christian Service Scholarship is available to students who demonstrate Christian character and are involved in their church, school, and community. 

Open To

Full-time, undergraduate students living on campus.

Scholarship Amount

The Christian Service Scholarship is valued at $4,000 per academic year for qualifying students. The Christian Service Scholarship is limited to eight full-time semesters, is applicable to tuition charges only, and is reviewed annually. Graduating seniors who are enrolled less than full-time for their final semester will be subject to their academic scholarships being prorated based on their enrollment status.

How to Apply

Incoming students are automatically considered for the Christian Service Scholarship by the information provided on the student's application for admission.

Specific Requirements

Students must enroll in and successfully complete the DBU Christian Leadership course during the first year of enrollment. During the first few weeks of each semester, declare an area of ministry for that semester (online forms will be provided). Students must be involved (for at least six hours per month) in a volunteer service or ministry activity. Complete and submit all Ministry Journal requirements each month. Ministry Journals are submitted online through the students Blackboard and reviewed by the Service Learning Center.

Maintaining this Scholarship

  • Students must reside in on-campus housing.
  • Students must be enrolled full-time in an on-campus program.
  • Students must meet all components of Satisfactory Academic Progress
