Commuter Academic Scholarships
Eligibility for the Commuter Academic Scholarships is determined by the information provided on the student's application for admission. Commuter Academic Scholarships may be used for tuition only. DBU academic scholarships are only available for programs for which regular, undergraduate block tuition is assessed. These scholarships cannot be applied to online-only programs. You may only qualify for one academic scholarship, but DBU will offer you the highest dollar-value scholarship for which you are eligible. A student may not receive an academic scholarship of higher value than their original award from their first year as a student. Graduating seniors who are enrolled less than full-time for their final semester will be subject to their academic scholarships being prorated based on their enrollment status.
Open To:
Full-time, undergraduate Transfer students who are not living on campus. Please contact your admission counselor with any questions.
Scholarship Amount: $5,000-$9,000
How to Apply:
Be enrolled as a full-time student living off-campus. There are no additional applications to apply for this award. Eligibility for the Commuter Academic Scholarships are determined by the information provided on the student's application for admission. After answering the brief scholarship question regarding their testimony and church involvement, students will be considered for the Commuter CSS and Commuter academic scholarships at the time of acceptance.
If you are a returning/continuing student and were previously awarded the Christian Service Award and have moved off campus, you have the option to complete a Scholarship Appeal in order to apply for the Commuter CSS Scholarship.

Maintaining these Scholarships:
To remain eligible for a DBU Commuter Academic Scholarship, eligible recipients must:
- Be residing off-campus and classified as a Transfer Commuter upon admission.
- Maintain specific overall GPAs as listed above to remain on scholarship at Dallas Baptist University.
- Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress meeting all three federally required components: minimum GPA, completion Rate, and maximum Hours.
