TEACP Superintendent Certification

Leadership matters! Gallup reports that great leaders tremendously impact every organization. They increase worker retention, motivation, engagement, and overall sense of wellbeing. These employee results also impact the customer experience and the bottom line. The same is certainly true in schools and school districts as well. Great leaders build stronger, positive cultures of trust, high expectations, and better outcomes for students.

At DBU, we take our mission very seriously. Our goal is to develop Christ-centered servant leaders with the ability to integrate faith and learning to transform the world in whatever field they have been called. We believe students and schools desperately need great Christ-centered servant-leaders.

The Texas Education Alternative Certification Program (TEACP) for Superintendent Certification is a two-semester (18-hour) program. Most students are employed full-time in an educational setting and looking to fulfill God’s calling and increase the scope of their impact in education. Starting in the fall and finishing in the spring, students take 2 classes each semester (one Friday and one Saturday per month for three months) and an in-district superintendent internship. In the spring semester students also take a seminar to prepare for the TExES 195 written exam. The cost is a flat fee of $5500 for the 6 classes (18-hours) and 0-hour seminar.

Twelve hours of the TEACP coursework can be applied toward the EDD K-12 degree, if a student chooses to continue in the program.** Students who continue the EDD K-12 coursework will receive a 40% tuition scholarship on their remaining courses.
