TEA Accreditation

The Educator Preparation Program at Dallas Baptist University is accredited by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and approved by the State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) to prepare, train, and recommend teacher, school counselor, educational diagnostician, principal, and superintendent candidates for certification.

Through a 5-year accreditation audit cycle, the TEA and SBEC confirm that DBU's Educator Preparation Program prepares candidates according to the laws, regulations, and rules established by the Texas Legislature, TEA, SBEC, and the State Board of Education (SBOE). Therefore, the program is continuously improving and maintaining the highest of standards required by the State of Texas for educator certification.

SACSCOC Accreditation

Dallas Baptist University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees. Dallas Baptist University also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. AAQEP Accreditation

Dallas Baptist University is a member in good standing of the Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP), a national accrediting organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. All DBU College of Education programs have been awarded full accreditation by AAQEP through December 31, 2030. Accreditation acknowledges that a program prepares effective educators who continue to grow as professionals and has demonstrated the commitment and capacity to maintain quality.
