Guided by a love for music and a desire to encourage students in their own faith journeys and passions, Professor Kimberly Green serves in Dallas Baptist University's College of Fine Arts as the newest full-time faculty member leading the Music Business and Commercial Music Program.

Born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, Kimberly is the eldest of four children in a close-knit, Christ-centered pastor's family filled with love, laughter, and purpose. Being surrounded by entrepreneurs, educators, and ministers during her childhood, "faith, music, and service to others" was at the heart of everything, helping to shape who she is today.

Kimberly earned her Bachelor of Arts at Marian University and later earned a Master of Music at Butler University. Throughout her studies, she highlights how God has guided and strengthened her in every moment, calling her educational journey "a beautiful blend of faith, music, and determination."

During her time in school, Kimberly was heavily involved in leading worship ministries in both English and Spanish, the gospel choir, musical theatre productions, the student union, as well as performing locally and teaching piano and voice lessons.

Kimberly is an award-winning vocalist and recording artist, with songwriter and vocal production credits on more than 30 completed projects, many of which have earned Grammy and Stellar nominations or awards. She has assumed many roles as a performer, appearing at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, ABC Studios in Chicago, and at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. Most notably, Kimberly has shared the stage with many world-renowned artists such as Madonna, The Clark Sisters, Angela Brown, and Mandy Gonzalez from the original cast of Hamilton.

Alongside these great achievements, she is a dedicated educator with a distinguished record of leading innovative and impactful arts programs, helping students discover and develop their own artistic gifts and gain confidence through their music and performances.

Kimberly served as a K-12 Fine Arts Administrator, where she oversaw creative programs, directed middle and high school concert choirs, and led a high school show choir. She also served as a Worship Arts Director, where Kimberly helped create an environment where people could encounter God through music. "Each of these experiences strengthened my passion for using the arts to inspire, teach, and uplift others," she shares.

These opportunities laid the groundwork for the chapter of life she is in now. Bringing in her experience with both classical and commercial music, Kimberly is thrilled to share her knowledge and passion to DBU's College of Fine Arts as a Professor in the Music Business and Commercial Music Program. Following the Lord's call, she also serves as a member of the voice faculty, along with teaching courses in Entrepreneurship and Commercial Music Industry.

Kimberly hopes to share her love of music with students and help them feel prepared and inspired to pursue their own gifts in the world of music and business. "I love helping them discover how their talents can be used not only for artistic expression, but also for meaningful impact in the industry and beyond," she says.

Kimberly and her husband have two daughters who fill their lives with joy, curiosity, and love. The family attends Westside Baptist Church, where Kimberly is involved in the women's choir, mass choir, and the youth music ministry.
