The Don and Linda Carter School of Business unites faith and business education with intentional purpose. Students gain more than just the technical knowledge to succeed in today's marketplace; they are mentored by faculty who model Christ-centered leadership and are challenged to view their careers as a calling to serve others. This integration of excellence and integrity is at the heart of the Carter School of Business' campaign, STAND FIRM. STAND OUT.

At its core, the Carter School's mission is to integrate faith, character, and competence into every aspect of business training, cultivating servant leaders who will transform the marketplace and the world through their careers. As Dr. Cicely Jefferson, Dean of the Carter School of Business, explains, "Integrating faith and learning means that I serve as a guide to help students connect their faith to the material being taught in such a way that by the time they leave our campus, they are unable to see their careers without seeing Jesus and how they can use their careers to bring glory to Him."

The Carter School of Business offers a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with several of DBU's most popular and in-demand majors, including Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Management, and Marketing. Each program blends a rigorous business core with specialized training designed to prepare graduates for real-world success. Faculty members bring a unique combination of professional expertise and spiritual mentorship to their teaching, offering students more than just classroom knowledge.

Students affirm this holistic approach. "DBU has equipped me to stand firm by teaching me that business and faith aren't separate," said Cora Moncibaiz, MBA '25, of Greenville, Texas. "They lead by example, to communicate with purpose … and lead with humility." Stories like hers echo throughout the Carter School of Business, where students are guided not only toward professional excellence but also toward faithful leadership.

Employers consistently affirm the value of partnering with DBU's Carter School of Business, noting how graduates stand out for their preparation, strong work ethic, and Christ-centered character. Through internships and corporate partnerships, students gain hands-on experience while demonstrating integrity and professionalism in the workplace. Many companies return year after year to hire DBU graduates, recognizing that Carter School students not only bring technical competence but also a commitment to servant leadership that sets them apart.

"As a DBU alumnus and now a leader at Southwest Airlines, I've seen how meaningful the partnership between DBU and Southwest can be," shared Dr. David Reyes, Manager of Learning, Talent Development Delivery. "With more than 100 alumni serving across our company, it's clear that DBU graduates bring a unique blend of competence, character, and servant leadership. I've had the privilege of engaging with students at career fairs, in the classroom, and even bringing my own students to Southwest to see how their ideas connect to a Fortune 500 company. It's been rewarding to help open doors for future Patriots through internships and continued education opportunities. I believe DBU is shaping leaders who are ready to stand firm in their faith and stand out in the marketplace."

The Carter School of Business also measures success through its commitment to accreditation and assessment. The school holds ACBSP accreditation for both undergraduate and graduate business programs, with additional programs in IT Management, Finance, and Cybersecurity set to be submitted in the next accrediting cycle. Standardized assessment results show Carter School of Business students consistently perform strongest in Management and Marketing, with steady growth across other programs as well.

As part of the STAND FIRM. STAND OUT. campaign, DBU invites alumni, friends, and partners to invest in the next generation of Christ-centered business leaders. Every gift fuels scholarships, enhances academic programs, and strengthens the training of servant leaders who will shape the marketplace with excellence and integrity.

DBU President, Dr. Adam C. Wright shares, "We have a bold vision to build a great university that is pleasing to God. Building the Carter School of Business positions DBU to make a lasting impact by producing Christ-centered servant leaders for the marketplace and beyond."

With faculty who model servant leadership, students who embrace their calling, and programs that hold the highest standards of excellence, the Carter School of Business remains a place where tomorrow's leaders are prepared to influence the world for Christ.
