BridgeBuilders Resources on Ethnic Conciliation

BridgeBuilders Resources on Ethnic Conciliation

"A brick wall experience is an experience that shakes a person to the core. Touching deep down, at the part of a person that is not often touched and normally protected. Like the video of George Floyd crying for his mother, and dying before our eyes."

In a recent webinar hosted by BridgeBuilders, the Pastor of Salem Institutional Baptist Church in South Dallas and DBU Alumnus Rev. Todd Atkins spoke about the necessary response to these continuing brick wall moments of injustice.

BridgeBuilders is a Christian ministry focused on engaging, equipping, and empowering individuals, families, and communities in South Dallas. Led by Executive Director and DBU Alumnus Jonathan Fechner, BridgeBuilders has sought to provide resources that inform and equip communities to actively pursue justice, specifically regarding the racism present in our nation.

Jonathan Fechner spoke early into the webinar, "We hope and pray that through this mode and through this means of listening and learning we can begin to learn more about the kingdom of God, the heart of God, and the justice of God, and how we can move forward as individuals."

The first session of BridgeBuilders's Speaking Series on Ethnic Conciliation can be found online. For more information, additional resources are also available.

As noted by the organization, "We believe that this list is a good place to start. However, the best way to learn about this community is by building relationships." More information about BridgeBuilders and the opportunities to engage with their mission can be found online.
