When Sadie Schiermeyer stepped onto the pageant stage this summer, she wasn't just walking in heels and a sash; she was stepping into a legacy. Crowned Miss Texas 2025, Sadie followed in the footsteps of her mother, who held the same title in 1994. But for Sadie, this journey is about more than tradition. It's about purpose, compassion, and a deep desire to serve others, both on the stage and beyond.

A proud Frisco native, Sadie brings passion, poise, and a servant-hearted mindset to her new role. Sadie's platform, Healthier Texas: How Are You, Really?, focuses on encouraging and educating Texans about physical and mental wellness. "With our state ranking near the bottom in overall wellness, I'm passionate about empowering Texans through education, open conversations, and accessible resources," Sadie shared. She is deeply committed to emotional and spiritual wellness and plans to carry these values throughout her year of service and beyond.

That same calling is leading her to Dallas Baptist University, where she has recently been accepted into the Master of Arts in Professional Counseling program. She hopes to begin her graduate studies in the spring, balancing her academic pursuits with the many responsibilities that come with wearing the Miss Texas crown.

Sadie's acceptance into DBU's counseling program reflects the University's mission to equip servant leaders who will impact the world for Christ. Her platform as Miss Texas gives her a unique opportunity to advocate for healthier emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. Her academic journey at DBU will provide the tools and training to turn that platform into a lasting impact.

Reflecting on his first meeting with Sadie, Dr. Steve Hunter, Program Director of DBU's MAPC program, shared, "One of the great privileges I have is interviewing applicants to our program. During Sadie's interview—just a week before the Miss Texas competition she shared her deep compassion for those struggling with mental health and her calling to serve them both biblically and clinically as a Licensed Professional Counselor. I was completely inspired. I told her, ‘You're exactly the kind of student we pray to enroll in our program—and you're going to win Miss Texas!' A few days later, I was congratulating Miss Texas on joining our program."

As Miss Texas, Sadie will spend the next year traveling across the state, speaking at schools, mentoring young women, and representing Texas at the Miss America pageant in September. Through it all, she carries her faith, her heart for service, and a growing desire to walk alongside others in their hardest moments, especially in the area of mental health.

As she steps into this exciting new chapter, the DBU family celebrates her accomplishments and looks forward to welcoming her to campus. Whether she's speaking to a crowd or connecting one-on-one, Sadie is focused on making a meaningful impact, guided by her faith and commitment to serving others.
