M.A. in Christian Counseling

The Master of Arts in Christian Counseling is a non-licensure, 36-hour graduate program designed to provide Christ-centered education to prepare servant leaders for the practical ministry of Christian counseling. The program provides both a theological and counseling foundation enabling the student to incorporate biblical principles into a counseling ministry. The program is designed for graduates who plan to counsel in the local church, denominational agencies, and ministry-based organizations.

Program Goals

    • Understand and apply biblical principles that will aid students in their personal faith in Jesus Christ and ministry to others.
    • Understand and evaluate secular and Christian psychology theories from a theological perspective.
    • Learn and practice Christian psychological principals, counseling skills, and techniques to use in a counseling ministry.

The M.A. in Christian Counseling is not designed to prepare students to become licensed professional counselors (LPC) in the state of Texas.
