The BGCT's Childhood Ministry Certification and DBU's M.A. in Children's Ministry

As a Baptist General Convention of Texas (BGCT) educational institution, Dallas Baptist University partners with the BGCT to train ministers. One way this occurs is by allowing Childhood Ministry Certification recipients to transfer certification course(s) to DBU for fulfillment of one 3-credit-hour Children's Ministry course. For further information regarding the BGCT's Childhood Ministry Certification program, contact Dr. Shelly Melia at (214) 333-5943 or shelly@dbu.edu.

Childhood Ministry Certification recipients must meet admissions requirements and be fully admitted into a DBU master's ministry degree program.

Note: Church Membership Requirement (for admission to master's ministry degrees and advanced ministry certificate programs): Within the last 12 months the applicant must have been an active member of a Christian church that holds Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Download the Certificate of Church Membership >>
