Dr. Jim Lemons' Background

Jim Lemons has been teaching at Dallas Baptist University since 2007, after serving 25 years in local church pastoral ministry. Jim is a graduate of Rice University in Houston and holds M. Div. and Ph.D. degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Dr. Lemons teaches in DBU’s College of Christian Faith as well as the Graduate School of Ministry where he serves as the Director of the Master of Arts in Theological Studies program.  

Jim and his wife Kathy have been married since 1982. They have two grown children: Christopher (who works in the Veteran’s Affairs Office at DBU) and Alyssa (a 2010 DBU graduate and current Radio City Rockette in New York City). Dr. Lemons enjoys the theater arts, playing the guitar, John Grisham novels, all kinds of sports, and spoiling his six wonderful grandchildren. The Lemons are members of the Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas, where Dr. Lemons teaches a Senior Adult Sunday School class.
