Scholarships for Graduate Students

Christian Leadership Scholarship

The Christian Leadership Scholarship (CLS) awards 25% of tuition per academic year to qualified graduate students. Students must apply for the Christian Leadership Scholarship as an incoming graduate student, before their first semester. 

Students who receive the Christian Leadership Scholarship exhibit the following: 

  • Commitment to Christian Service
  • Dedication to academic excellence
  • Remain enrolled in consecutive semesters (excluding Summer and Winter terms) to retain scholarship
  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
  • Must be a US, Mexican, or Canadian citizen

Email graduate@dbu.edu for the Christian Leadership Scholarship application. A student’s admission application will also be taken into consideration when being evaluated for the Christian Leadership Scholarship.

Corporate Partnership Tuition

Dallas Baptist University offers a variety of payment options for corporate education students as well as those who receive payment for their tuition from a third-party company, organization, or tuition program.

If your company has a corporate partnership agreement with DBU for tuition reduction, the Cashier Office will provide the office of Financial Aid with notification of your tuition reduction and your student account will be updated. 

Church Matching Gift Program

Dallas Baptist University will match designated Christian church gifts for DBU students up to, but not exceeding, $3,500.00 per academic year (fall, spring, and summer) per student. The scholarship program is applicable to full-time or part-time students.

DBU provides matching funds to gifts provided by Christian churches that hold Jesus Christ to be Lord and Savior. This is a matching scholarship program for individual churches only. Gifts from denominations or para-church organizations are not included in this matching gift program.

The recommended student must be an active member or student member in the church providing the scholarship.

Graduate BGCT Ministry Scholarship

The Graduate BGCT Ministry Scholarship provides $100 per semester hour for part-time or full-time students enrolled in a master’s degree program leading to the practice of ministry in a vocational church-related setting or teaching and research in a theological school, college, or university. For doctoral students pursuing a concentration in ministry, the Graduate BGCT Ministry Scholarship is $150 per semester hour. Students are also eligible to receive $1000 per semester for 9 consecutive semesters upon confirmation that they are members of a BGCT church. Graduate students who receive this scholarship may also be eligible to receive the DBU Ministerial Scholarship.

DBU Ministerial Scholarship

Qualifying graduate students may only receive the DBU Ministerial Scholarship if approved to receive the Graduate BGCT Ministry Scholarship. The DBU Ministerial Scholarship provides an additional $100 per semester hour for full-time students enrolled in a master’s degree program leading to the practice of ministry in a vocational church-related setting or teaching and research in a theological school, college, or university. For doctoral students pursuing a concentration in ministry, the DBU Ministerial Scholarship provides $150 per semester hour. 

School District Scholarship

The Graduate School of Education offers a 33% scholarship for those who work in a local school district. 

School Cohort Scholarship

The School Cohort Scholarship awards a 40% scholarship to qualifying graduate students whose school districts partner with Dallas Baptist University and create a cohort of students. 

Camp Ministry Matching Grant

Dallas Baptist University will match designated Christian Camp gifts for DBU students up to, but not exceeding, $1,500.00 per academic year per student.

The scholarship program is applicable to full-time or part-time students.

Home of the Patriots Military Scholarship (HOPS)

The Home of the Patriots Military Scholarship (HOPS) is valued at $600 per semester for Veteran students and their dependents.   

Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE) Scholarships

The DBU Association for Biblical Higher Education Partnership Scholarship awards 35% of master's or doctoral tuition to faculty or staff of an ABHE member institution. 

The DBU Association of Biblical Higher Education Matching Scholarship will match up to 50% of any scholarship funds provided to a faculty or staff member by an ABHE member institution toward master's or doctoral tuition.

The DBU Association of Biblical Higher Education Student Scholarship awards 30% of master’s or doctoral tuition to any student who graduated from an ABHE member institution.

ABHE Scholarships cannot be stacked.  

Christ for the Nations Institute (CFNI) Scholarship

Dallas Baptist University offers a $100 per hour tuition scholarship to graduates of CFNI who enroll at DBU on a full-time or part-time basis. Students are required to submit a copy of their CFNI diploma.

Students must also complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and any other required paperwork, as requested.

First-Responder Scholarship

DBU awards $500 per semester to first responders. Eligibility is determined by the information provided on the student’s application for admission.
