DBU STUNT Wins the LSC Championship

DBU STUNT wins the championship at the Lone Star Conference Tournament

During the 2024 season, DBU STUNT secured the No. 1 seed in the inaugural Lone Star Conference Tournament. In the tournament, DBU defeated the No. 4 seed, UT Tyler, in a devastating mercy-rule 15-0 game, which earned them a spot in the finals against St. Mary's. DBU fought hard against the Rattlers and secured victory with a score of 20-5, claiming the first-ever Lone Star Conference Tournament Championship.

"We played the game to the best of our abilities, regardless of the level of the routine," said senior captain Chari Uber. "Every teammate was proud of the routine that was on the mat. Making it to the championship game was a huge reward, and winning was the biggest blessing."

DBU STUNT has solidified itself as a force to be reckoned with as it takes pride in its high-level routines, teamwork on and off the mat, and dedication to glorifying Christ through all they do. "DBU STUNT has taken an aggressive step the last few years in raising the standard of not only the athletes we bring in but the culture in and around our athlete's lives that benefit the team in more ways than one" — Head Cheerleading and STUNT Coach, Callie Taylor.

Securing the LSC Championship is a significant accomplishment for the program during its first season as an NCAA program. "Every day, we attack practice with a mindset to keep getting better at little things and remind ourselves that we compete against us. While controlling what we can, ultimately, we know who holds our future in His hands" — Callie Taylor.

The team is working hard to prepare for Nationals in St. Louis on April 26-28. They look forward to putting their best foot forward and giving everything they've got to bring home another title.
