DBU Holds Donated Giveaway for International Students

International student at giveaway

DBU recently held a giveaway for its ever-growing population of international students who travel far from their homes and families to study on University Hill. The giveaway held on August 25 in Piper Hill provided free new and gently used items donated by DBU staff members, DBU international alumni, members of the Women's Auxiliary Board, and assorted friends of the University. There were a dozen large items (couches, dressers, futons, etc.) donated along with 24 eight-foot tables covered with household items, including everything from dishes and cookware to bath towels and storage tubs to wall art and throw pillow and much more.

"Over 80 students were blessed by these donations and now have new household items that will help them navigate life a little more easily here in the US," shared Susie Cassel, who serves as Director of International Student Services.

Dallas Baptist University is honored to be the home of international students hailing from over 50 countries across the world. DBU is exceedingly grateful for the generosity of kindness of the Patriot family in supporting these students all year round. The International Office is excited to announce they will be holding another giveaway this spring and asks for the DBU Family to begin considering being a part of providing for these students next semester. Visit our international website or email globalinfo@dbu.edu for more information and to find out how to support our international students.
