EBAM Partnerships
Faith-based entrepreneurship does not happen in isolation.
The Center for Entrepreneurship and Business as Mission (EBAM) is built on relationships with leaders and organizations who believe business can be used to serve others, create opportunity, support mission, and glorify God.
The EBAM Center partners with business leaders, investors, entrepreneurs, ministries, and mission-minded organizations. These partnerships help students learn from experienced practitioners and participate in work that reaches far beyond the classroom. Through them, students gain access to real-world learning, mentorship, pitch events, investment diligence, internships, travel opportunities, and Business-as-Mission networks.
The EBAM Center connects students with Christian angel investor networks that help them learn investment diligence, evaluate Kingdom-minded businesses, and understand how capital can serve the work of Christ in the marketplace.
Beyond Angels
Beyond Angels is the official network of the DBU Patriots and invites accredited investors to participate.
The network was created to offer internships for students at Christian universities, allowing them to vet Kingdom-minded businesses for investment by Christian investors. Its current managing director is a DBU alum.
Ambassadors Impact
Ambassadors Impact is based in Dallas and is a leading Christian angel investor network globally. The organization sponsors many events connected to the faith-driven impact investing movement and has worked with DBU for years.
The EBAM Center connects students with pitch events that bring together entrepreneurs, investors, business leaders, and mission-minded partners.
Pitch competitions allow students to see entrepreneurship in action.
Students listen to founders, evaluate ideas, observe investor questions, provide feedback, and serve behind the scenes. These experiences help students understand the courage, clarity, preparation, and calling involved in launching and growing a business.
The Lion's Den DFW
The Lion's Den DFW is a Shark Tank-style pitch event for Christian businesses and investors. DBU has hosted the event since it launched in 2016, with faculty, staff, and students contributing significant volunteer support each year.
The event has become an annual gathering place for like-minded people connected to the faith-driven impact investing movement.
For students, The Lion's Den DFW offers a front-row seat to faith-driven entrepreneurship, investor conversations, breakout sessions, and networking.
Prison Entrepreneurship Program
The Prison Entrepreneurship Program (PEP) is a Texas-based nonprofit that trains inmates who will soon be released to build startup companies. PEP is run by individuals whose values align with DBU and the EBAM Center.
DBU students, staff and faculty attend PEP events each semester, listening to pitches, providing feedback and encouragement to the men going through the program. Students come away from the experience deeply impacted with new insights into the ways God transforms people and uses business for His glory and our good.
The EBAM Center works with local and global partners who believe business can create jobs, transform communities and open doors for the Gospel.
The EBAM Center's BAM alliances help students learn from organizations that are already integrating faith, entrepreneurship, investing, and mission in both local and global contexts.
A Growing Network of Faith-Driven Partners
Over the years, DBU has developed relationships with a number of faith-based impact investing organizations, including C12 North Texas, Faith Driven Investor, Faith Driven Entrepreneur, Impact Foundation, National Christian Foundation, and businesses committed to faith integration locally and globally.
These relationships help the EBAM Center expose students to networks where entrepreneurship, investing, discipleship, and mission intersect.
Global Business as Mission Connections
The EBAM Center is also working with overseas-focused organizations, including Open Network and the B4T Expo, AgGrandize, BAM Global, MDE - Marketplace & Development Enterprises, and others.
These relationships may help create additional travel studies, internships, investment opportunities, and conferences for student networking.
