Earn college credit, explore Dallas-Fort Worth through educational excursions, and make lasting memories with other high school students as you experience the life of a DBU student! Students will get the opportunity to live in the dorms, eat in the caf, go to chapel, and truly take on the rhythms of a DBU student for the week.

The Pre-College Academy Summer Institute allows motivated high-school students to earn college credit in a Christ-centered academic community while learning directly from DBU professors. Through rigorous coursework grounded in a biblical worldview, life on DBU’s campus, or on an academic trip to New York, students grow intellectually, spiritually, and personally while gaining clarity and confidence for college.

- Current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors in high school are eligible to apply.
- If you are a new applicant to DBU's Pre-College Academy program, complete the online Pre-College Academy application.
- When applying, select the term "PCA Summer Institute."

FAQ's
Current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors in high school are eligible to apply.
No, dual credit courses are not required to be taken before the PCA Summer Institute.
- At least four (4) successfully completed high school courses
- 3.0 GPA or higher
- Parent Consent
- For international applicants only: evidence of English proficiency is required
Yes, all courses will have online requirements before and after the camp dates. Classes will begin online starting June 1st. They will then take place on campus June 8th through June 12th and then resume online until July 2nd.
General Psychology, Speech and Interpersonal Communication, and American National Government will be worth 3 credit hours. Fitness for Living will be worth 1 credit hour.
No, the price is a set rate.
Yes, international students from global community partner schools are eligible to apply. International students must contact the DBU international admissions office at globalinfo@dbu.edu for more information.
All Pre-College Academy Summer Institute students earn a $5,000 DBU tuition scholarship for future use.
A $400.00 deposit is due within 30 days of acceptance. This deposit is refundable till May 1, 2026.
