Competition and Teamwork: Greek Life Comes Together for Annual Greek Week

Kicking off the month of September with competition, laughs, and new memories, Dallas Baptist University's Student Life hosted the annual Greek Games. Going head-to-head in a series of challenges, sororities and fraternities competed for the title of Greek Week Champion.

Each evening, Greek Life teams met around DBU's campus, ready to take on the surprise challenges that awaited them.

Meeting at the Intramural Field for the first night of competition, the teams rallied together to cheer on their teammates as they participated in tug-of-war and relay races. As the competitors gave it their all, the night ended with the fraternity Rho Lambda Chi and sorority Sigma Chi Eta at the top of the leaderboard.

With each day bringing a new obstacle, the teams worked together, motivating one another as they continued to complete tasks with the goal of being crowned Greek Week Champion.

Later in the week, DBU's Greek Life made their way to Ford Village for a series of challenges that would test their competitors on a whole new level. The teams took to the water, competing in a relay race through the pool and a game of water volleyball.

As the teams cheered their competitors on throughout the week, the final night of Greek Week brought each sorority and fraternity together in Sadler Hall for one last challenge that would determine the winner.

After a week of hard work, dedication, and teamwork, Alpha Delta Kappa (ADK) climbed to the top of the leaderboard and was announced as this year's Greek Week Champions.

Alpha Delta Kappa President, Ava Williams, reflects on receiving this honor. "Our girls showed up every day with high energy, ready to compete, and to have fun," she shares. "They surprised me more everyday with their enthusiasm and reminded me why I love ADK so much. I could not be more proud of them!"

Ready for what the fall semester will bring, students in Greek Life are excited to carry this momentum forward as they welcome fellow Patriots during Rush Week and compete once again during Battle at the Burg to kick off Basketball season on University Hill.
