DBU’s Sport Management Degree Program Offering Students a Start to a Successful Career
The Carter School of Business equips students with a variety of opportunities to learn and grow as they integrate their faith into diverse business industries that align with their interests. Among these, Dallas Baptist University is launching newly revamped Bachelor's in Sport Management and Master's in Sport Management programs beginning Fall 2026.
The Sport Management program allows students to focus and specialize in a variety of roles in the sports industry, including professional and collegiate athletics, public and private schools, parks and recreation, and sports ministry.

Like other degree programs at DBU, the Sport Management courses integrate faith into all aspects of learning, equipping students to carry those principles into the business world long after graduation.
In addition, the program combines theoretical knowledge and practical skills to prepare students for success in the dynamic sports industry. "We strive to develop ethical, Christian leaders who are prepared to make a positive impact in a variety of roles within the sport industry," says Dr. Suzanne Dangelmaier, program director for Sport Management in the Carter School of Business.

With sports serving as an active way to interact with athletes, audiences, and industry professionals, Sport Management graduates are in a unique position to share their faith. As DBU emphasizes servant leadership in both their personal and professional lives, professors encourage students to actively seek ways to incorporate their faith into their careers.
Students in the Sport Management program are immersed in group projects, internships, lectures, case studies, and industry-based coursework that prepare them for the workforce after graduation.
With the Dallas-Fort Worth area being ranked among the top five sports media markets in the U.S., students have immense opportunities to gain real-world experience in the sports industry. The Carter School of Business connects Sport Management students with business executives throughout the DFW area, opening the door for students to receive valuable industry insight through internships, networking events, connections, and guidance from professionals.

Graduates from the Sport Management program find careers as Athletic Directors, Event Manager, Sports Marketing Manager, Brand Manager for athletic companies, Coach, Strength and Conditioning Coach, Game Day Operations Manager, Licensing & Branding Coordinator, Intramural Sports Director, Camp and Clinic Coordinator, or as a Sports Ministry Leader.
As the Sport Management program relaunches in Fall 2026, it stands as a testament to Dallas Baptist University's mission to develop graduates who lead with integrity, serve with purpose, and make a lasting impact through their work.
