Providing Christ-Centered Education Worldwide: Alumnus Dr. Gary Chevalier Steps into the Role of CEO of NAUMS, Inc.

As a devoted leader, educator, and follower of Christ, 2023 alumnus of Dallas Baptist University's Ed.D. in Educational Leadership K-12 program, Dr. Gary Chevalier steps into a new role as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Association of University-Model Schools (NAUMS), Inc. In this role, he will lead efforts to expand and strengthen Christ-centered education initiatives around the world.

Dr. Chevalier's family has been affiliated with DBU for many years and are beloved DBU graduates. His wife, Dr. Andrea Chevalier, graduated from DBU's Ed.D. in Educational Leadership K-12 program in 2021, and their daughter, Allison, graduated with both her bachelor's and master's degrees in 2025.

For over 30 years, Dr. Chevalier has served in ministry as a student pastor, connections pastor, teaching pastor, financial administrator, and in worship leadership. He also serves as a certified educator in the State of Texas with more than a decade of teaching experience. In education, Dr. Chevalier served as a junior high band and choir director, teacher, principal, along with administrative roles in public schools, private Christian schools, and University-Model® schools.

Before becoming CEO of NAUMS, Inc., Dr. Chevalier served on the pastoral staff at CrossCreek Church in Colleyville, Texas, where he founded and directed the CrossCreek Residency. The program was designed to provide emerging church leaders with practical ministry experience and a foundation in servant leadership.

As CEO of NAUMS, Inc., Dr. Chevalier helps oversee the establishment of University-Model® and Classical University-Model® K-12 schools globally.

NAUMS, Inc. was established in 2005, working to provide parents and students with an education that combines traditional schooling, Christ-centered values, and homeschooling all into one education. They currently have over 90 University-Model® schools across four countries, serving to strengthen the partnership between parents and schools to disciple and prepare the next generation of Christ followers for their futures.

Drawing on his DBU education and extensive experience in ministry and education, Dr. Chevalier now serves as CEO by leading efforts to establish and strengthen schools worldwide partnering with families to disciple students and equip the next generation of servant leaders to faithfully live out their calling in an ever-changing world.
