In the early 1980s, a group of students from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary shared coffee, donuts, and the Gospel with some homeless men and women sleeping in the Fort Worth Water Gardens. Among these students was Mike Myers. Soon the homeless were brought to local churches for services. It was quickly realized that the homeless needed a church of their own, thus the beginning of Beautiful Feet Ministries.

In 1985, a location was found on East Hattie Street to provide a church for the homeless in the area. Mike and the team renovated this facility and in 1986, Beautiful Feet Ministries was officially opened. Realizing discipleship was key to bringing men off the streets, the Sunshine House was opened in 1994. This discipleship program, held in a small home next to the main facility, focused on intense discipleship, accountability, and Bible studies for Men. In 2002, the dormitory known as the “Boot Camp” was renovated and opened. This enabled up to 75 volunteers to come from all over the US to serve the poor and needy and learn what it means to be a disciple maker of Jesus Christ.

In 2018, The House of Glory, a women’s discipleship program opened its doors for up to 40 women to learn and grow in their faith in Jesus Christ. Today, Beautiful Feet has served over 135,000 meals to the homeless, and their facility is open 359 days a year. Within the past year, they have had 3,800 volunteers. Beautiful Feet continues to serve as a church in the inner city, holding daily worship services and serving two meals a day seven days a week. Showers and laundry services are also offered to the homeless who come each day. On Sundays, clothing is given to the needy. In addition to this, Beautiful Feet offers no-cost dental and medical clinics each week.

Beautiful Feet's Pastor, Director and Co-Founder, Mike Myers is a graduate of Mississippi State University in Pre-Veterinary Science and holds a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Mike and his wife, Sarah, are blessed with the joy of five children and six grandchildren. DBU students have served with Beautiful Feet since 2005, and Beautiful Feet is a consistent partner for SWAT service days and various service opportunities.
