DBU Music Department Rejoices During the Christmas Season

The DBU Grand Chorus performs on stage in the Chapel with a full orchestra, conducted by Dr. Stephen Holcomb

Every year, the DBU Department of Music fills Pilgrim Chapel with the sights and sounds of Christmas, and the 2018 performance was no exception.

Led by Dr. Steve Holcomb, DBU Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities, the Christmas Festival, this year aptly named Rejoice! The Savior Comes, showcased the various musical talents of the DBU family. The two-act performance featured the DBU Grand Chorus, the University Chorale, Legacy, and the Festival Orchestra, as well as special other performances by DBU students and a live nativity scene, complete with Mary, Joseph, and Baby Jesus, this year played by Hannah Baker, Jordan Walker, and DBU alumni Aaron and Meredith Russo's infant son, Amos.

Be sure to mark your calendars for next year’s incredible performance, which will take place on Saturday, December 7. Contact the DBU College of Fine Arts at (214) 333-5316 to make sure that you are on their mailing list for all upcoming performances or visit www.dbumusic.com.
