A Morning of Reflection and Recommitment: The Women’s Auxiliary Board Hosts Annual Yellow Ribbon Luncheon

Gathering on the Dallas Baptist University campus early in September, the Women's Auxiliary Board held its annual Yellow Ribbon Luncheon. Together, the women reflected on DBU's Christ-centered mission, celebrated the start of a new semester, and honored a decade of faithful partnership in DBU's mission from First Lady Candice Wright.

The Women's Auxiliary Board President, Denise Campbell, welcomed guests with the organization's theme verse, 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, emphasizing their commitment to prayer, thanksgiving, service, and support for DBU.

Leslie Moulton, Executive Director of the Women's Auxiliary Board, then encouraged the women to steward the resources and abilities God has given them to continue investing in His Kingdom.

Later, this year's Yellow Ribbon Luncheon Chair, Dorothy Smith, reminded guests that the yellow ribbons lining the roads of campus are a symbol of welcoming DBU students back to campus and its prayerful support in their lives. "DBU is educating those exact people to be more than academically prepared for the opportunities that are ahead," she shared. "They are spiritually emboldened to stand for Christ in this world."

Following a reminder from President Adam C. Wright about DBU's consistent dedication to Christ and His Kingdom, the Women's Auxiliary Board brought a special presentation to honor Candice Wright for her 10 years of faithfulness in supporting the DBU community.

Reflecting on Candice's service as a DBU professor and alongside Dr. Wright, Stefanie Roberts highlighted Candice's servant heart and her willingness to support those around her. Brittany Anderson drew attention to Candice's radiant love for the DBU students, and Jaycee Duce concluded by describing her as a woman of prayer, hard work, and inspiration.

Through this special time of reflecting on God's faithfulness to DBU and honoring a beloved servant leader, the Women's Auxiliary Board once again reaffirmed their investment in supporting the mission and lives of those on University Hill.
