"The value of DBU students being able to immediately engage with prominent and influential leaders who think 'Christianly' and share DBU's values addressing issues in the public square is innovative. I'm honored to be part of the Senior Fellows program and desire to put my shoulder to the plow alongside Dr. Wright and the team to provide transformational opportunities for students at the intersection of faith and reason."

Dallas Baptist University recently appointed Jeremiah J. Johnston, Ph.D., M.Div., M.A., as Senior Fellow for Christian Origins for the Institute for Global Engagement (IGE), a Christian, non-partisan think tank dedicated to addressing issues in the public square with biblical distinctiveness. Dr. Johnston is a New Testament Scholar who has been called to equip Christians to love God with all their minds. Dr. Johnston's role will include editing an upcoming academic journal housed within the IGE, expanding the reach of the University, and engaging with DBU students through speaking at chapel, lecturing, and teaching courses.

"We are so thrilled to have my friend and apologist, Dr. Jeremiah Johnston, at DBU in this role," stated DBU President Dr. Adam C. Wright. "He has a passion to see the truths of Scripture applied and practiced in every context of life. I have no doubt his work on University Hill will strengthen our students' and constituents' Christian worldview."

Dr. Johnston is thrilled about his new role at DBU, especially when it comes to being involved in the classrooms with DBU students on a day-to-day basis. Sharing the love of Christ and being a servant for the Lord is Dr. Johnston's favorite thing to do. "I am God-obsessed and truth-addicted. All my thoughts begin and end in God. I am thankful for God's incredible saving grace in my life through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ."

Dr. Jeremiah Johnston was born and raised in Kansas City, where he met his wife, Audrey, of 20 years, and they have five children. In addition to Dr. Johnston's role with the IGE, he serves as Pastor of Apologetics and Cultural Engagement at Prestonwood Baptist Church, Dean of Spiritual Development at Prestonwood Christian Academy, and President of the Christian Thinkers Society. Dr. Johnston has also authored fifteen books, Bible studies, and numerous articles and chapters. He also has been interviewed numerous times across a multitude of national shows, including Fox News, CNN, CBS This Morning, Vanity Fair, Premier Christianity Magazine & Premier Radio, RELEVANT Magazine, DECISION Magazine, The Christian Post, Moody Radio Network, Salem Radio Network, and several other media outlets.

Dr. Johnston is published by Oxford University Press, E. J. Brill, Bloomsbury T & T Clark, Macmillan, Mohr Siebeck, LifeWay, Harper Collins/Thomas Nelson, Whitaker House, Post Hill Press, Destiny Image, Bethany House, and Baker Publishing Group.
