DBU Honors Gil Stricklin with Tom Landry Leadership Award

Dallas, TX - Dallas Baptist University honored Mr. Gil Stricklin, of Dallas, during the Eighth Annual Tom Landry Leadership Award Dinner on Saturday, March 22, 2014. The dinner was held at 6:00 p.m. on the DBU campus.

Stricklin is the president, CEO, and founder of Marketplace Ministries, Inc., a non-profit organization that provides a faith-based contracted chaplain care service to secular businesses nationwide, with more than 1,200 chaplains positioned. Prior to establishing the ministry in 1984, Stricklin was a successful businessman, a Colonel in the U. S. Army Chaplain Corps, and a special assistant to Dr. Billy Graham's global evangelistic ministry.

The honorary chair for the dinner was Alicia Landry, wife of former Dallas Cowboys coach, the late Tom Landry, and Bo Pilgrim, CEO of Pilgrim Enterprises. Dr. Jerry Carlisle, Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Plano, served as Dinner Chair.

Texas State Representative Scott Turner served as the keynote speaker for the evening.

Stricklin and his wife Ann have two grown sons, Art (married to Belinda) and Cliff (married to Robin), along with four grandchildren.
