John Humphreys Named DBU Staff Member of the Year

Dallas, TX - John Humphreys, director of DBU Mansfield, was named the 2013 Staff Member of the Year at Dallas Baptist University.

Humphreys joined the DBU staff in 1989 as Assistant to the Vice President for Financial Affairs. He has also served as Director of Recruiting and Administrative Services for the College of Professional Studies, and Director of the MBA program. In 2008, he helped establish the University's extension center, DBU Mansfield. He oversees all operations including advising, counseling, and community partnership development. Humphreys was recognized as DBU Advisor of the Year in 2003.

Previously he came from Waco, where he served as assistant vice president for commercial and real estate lending at NationsBank.

Humphreys holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Pan American University in Edinburg, Texas, and a Master of Business Administration from DBU.

His wife, Jean, has been a member of the DBU faculty since 1992, now serving as a professor of sociology. They have three children: Lauren, Josh and Jordan; and one grandson, Griffin. The Humphreys are active members of the First Baptist Church of Arlington.
