DBU Breaks Ground on New Academic Building for Don and Linda Carter School of Business
Dallas Baptist University marked a significant milestone on February 18, 2026, with the groundbreaking of the new Don and Linda Carter School of Business building, celebrating the beginning of an exciting new chapter in the University’s mission to prepare Christ-centered servant leaders to impact the marketplace and the world.
University leadership, faculty, students, alumni, and supporters gathered on campus for a morning of worship, celebration, and fellowship. The day began with a chapel service, followed by the official groundbreaking ceremony at the site of the future building and a luncheon honoring donors and friends of the University.
The ceremony included prayer and remarks recognizing God’s provision and the shared vision behind the project. The groundbreaking symbolized DBU’s continued commitment to preparing ethical, purpose-driven leaders equipped to serve with integrity in the marketplace and beyond.
"I see it in the business world every day, we need Christ-centered leaders. We need people willing to stand up for our God and stand firm for Godly principles. It's those Christ-centered leaders that DBU can shape and mold every day that make the difference," said Ron Carter.
Approximately 55,000 square feet across five levels, the new state-of-the-art Carter School of Business building will offer extensive space for both classroom instruction and hands-on training across the school’s diverse majors and disciplines. The Carter School of Business building will strengthen teaching, foster student engagement, and support the University’s commitment to integrating faith and professional preparation. The facility will include modern classrooms, faculty and administrative offices, student study and collaboration rooms, conference and meeting rooms, auditoriums, a simulated stock exchange trading floor, and other innovative learning environments.
Dr. Adam C. Wright stated, “This new facility will be a signature addition for our campus, providing a world-class environment where students are equipped to serve as Kingdom-minded marketplace leaders.”
Speakers reflected on the years of planning and partnership that led to this milestone and emphasized the long-term impact the building will have on future generations of DBU students. With construction underway and an anticipated opening in Fall 2027, the Carter School of Business building represents a strategic investment in excellent Christ-centered academics and the continued growth of Dallas Baptist University.
